This is an example how you should display your  911 address.

Numbers indicating the official numbers for each principal building or each front entrance to such building shall be posted in a manner as to be legible and distinguishable from the street on which the property is located, with letters painted or applied, of contrasting color to the background, of not less than three (3”) in height. If a building or dwelling is situated in such a way that the numbers cannot be easily seen from the roadway in front of said structure, then a sign or number post must be used in front of the structure and placed in such a way that it can easily seen from the roadway. IT’S THE LAW!

The Franklin County Emergency Telephone System Board maintains and issues all addresses in Franklin County. If you are building a new home there are three ways to notify the 911 Staff that you need an address. You may print the forms listed below and either mail, or fax them into the 911 office. We also offer an online form so you can submit the form electronically.

How addressing works:

The 911 Staff must drive to your new home location. Using GPS and laser technology the precise location of your home is recorded. This data is then taken to the 911 office where it is added to the mapping systems that are used by the three PSAP's serving Franklin County. Then when an emergency arises, and you dial 911 on your land line telephone the Dispatcher will be prompted with the exact location of your home or business on a computerized map.

This is the vehicle we use when addressing. If you see us, wave hello !!!
